Good to know:
• Pure beeswax is one of nature’s most perfect products. Beeswax is made from the nectar of flowers. The honeybees produce beeswax from wax glands on the sides of their body and use it to create “cells” to store their honey in. It possesses a subtle aroma, the fragrance of honey ingrained with the other plant scents. On the average, eight pounds of honey are consumed by the bees for each pound of wax made by the colony.

• Lip balms work by applying a thin protective layer to the surface of the skin to seal in moisture and protect from the elements. Lip skin has no hair (thank goodness!), nor does it have sweat or sebaceous glands. Therefore, it does not have the usual protective layer of sweat and body oils which keep the skin smooth, kill pathogens, and regulate warmth. For these reasons, the lips dry out faster and become chapped more easily.
• Most people use lip balms all year around. But, did you know that most lip balm is sold November through February? Almost 3 times as much lip balm sold in December as in June!
• Sweden has a population of 9 million people, about the same as the state of New Jersey. However, Sweden is much larger in area, about 20 times the size of New Jersey.
